Where we work

A roofing company for Exeter and East Devon

Our roofing work is centred on Exeter. From the city we cover the suburbs on both sides of the river, the estuary villages down to Exmouth on one bank and Dawlish on the other, and the towns within easy reach along the M5 and the A30: Cullompton to the north, Crediton to the west and Ottery St Mary to the east.

The list below is a guide, not a boundary. If you are a little further out and need a roofer, call 07307 511424 and ask.

Local roofs

What roofs around Exeter have to cope with

The same few problems come up again and again, and where you live has a lot to do with which one you get.

Old slate in the city

In St Thomas, Heavitree, St Leonard’s and the other older parts of Exeter, many terraces still have their original slate. The slates often outlast the nails holding them, so they start to slip a few at a time. Caught early, that is a roof repair. Left, it becomes a re-roof.

Wind and rain off the estuary

Topsham, Lympstone, Exmouth, Starcross and Dawlish take the weather first. Ridge tiles, verges, flashings and chimneys are the parts that suffer, and salt in the air is hard on fixings and mortar.

Flat roofs everywhere

Extensions, garages, dormers and porches from Pinhoe to Alphington sit under flat roofs. An older felt roof is often the first part of a house to leak, and the first to be put right with a modern covering.
